Your District Team is Growing: to better support you in your call

Posted on Tuesday, January 19, 2016

This month the District Ministry Center staff adds two new members to the team. Both have served in the district for many years so they will not be strangers to you.

Rev. Ken Otto retired December 1 after nearly 40 years of pastoral leadership in Bloomingdale, GA. Ken has served on most of the district committees during that time and has been a help in understanding the history of the district. He and his wife, Micki, have had a rich ministry to pastoral couples and now will continue that ministry in a part time role in the district. Both are trained in PeaceMaker principles and several approaches to church health and revitalization.

Ken completes our team of Pastor Care and Development Directors for the district. He along with Rev. Bruce Bliss and Rev. Dan Rothra provide a listening ear and life coaching for pastors as they pursue their call to ministry. We understand the rigors of gospel ministry today and are committed to doing what we can to pray regularly for you and provide access to well-equipped pastoral care for you. Ken’s region will serve all of South Carolina and select pastors in Georgia and North Carolina.

Rev. Kris Gerow continues to serve as the Assistant Pastor at Franklin Alliance Church, Franklin NC. He and his wife, Jamie, have an Acts 1:8 passion that motivates them to want to devote themselves to helping our congregations purposely engage in our international mission to take the Gospel to the unreached and underserved people around the world. He assumes the role of District Missions Mobilizer and with the blessing of his board of elders, will serve 8-10 hours each week to this role.

In the South Atlantic District, we are a community of Christ-centered, mission-focused congregations, sending our people into their world with the Gospel of Jesus, a people of hope and blessing, making disciples. These additions to the team will enable us to pursue this vision together with greater clarity, while providing every Alliance Pastor with more support in his call. Please pray for these men as they begin their new ministry among us.
